Angie Vu to be extradited to France: ‘Ample evidence’ to send Asia’s sexiest DJ to Paris to face parental kidnapping charges, says judge.

Angie-Vu-Clinton

A former Playboy Playmate and ‘Asia’s sexiest DJ’ is to be extradited to Paris to face parental kidnapping charges after a seven month stint in a Brooklyn jail.

Angie Vu, 33, has been locked up after allegedly trying to flee the U.S. with her nine-year-old daughter, who was supposed to be in the custody of her father.

Federal Judge Frederic Block said there was ‘ample evidence’ that Vu had knowingly violated a French family court decree that required her nine-year-old daughter to be in the care of her biological father, who has custody of the child.

The day before her hearing, Vu had appeared before the judge for oral argument, an opportunity she told the New York Daily News was ‘overwhelming’.

But the judge cut her off just minutes in and advised her that her argument for custody of her daughter should be heard by French authorities.

Vietnamese Vu was jailed in November after allegedly trying to fly from John F. Kennedy Airport to China with her daughter Isabella.

Isabella’s father, Richard Froger, is based in France and has custody of the girl but agreed to allow her to stay with Vu until August 29, but Vu is accused of breaking that agreement by boarding the plane.

During her time spent in jail, Vu claimed that she had been ‘tortured’, calling the lack of a full-length mirror ‘cruel’ and branding prison life ‘horrible’.

‘This place is so horrible, there’s no sunlight ever. I have been under the harsh light 24/7 and turned pale,’ Vu told the New York Daily News.

‘I need a good supply of Guerlain’s moisturizer in here. I miss my Versace dresses and Louboutin heels. My nails are nicely trimmed but I’m dying to have some colors on them. The torture is real.

‘There’s no real mirror in prison. We all buy this tiny piece of plastic, but the images are distorted. I wish there should be at least one full-length mirror in here. I haven’t looked at myself for months. It’s cruel.’

Vu, who has previously said she has had to repeatedly turn down the advances of lesbian inmates, said being jailed had taken a huge toll on her life.

‘[I’ve gone] From extremely proud and confident getting naked for Playboy to shaking, sobbing in humiliation to do hundreds of strip search for contraband,’ she said.

‘Last year became the dark year of my life. I had abandoned my jobs, my fans and pushed away all other fabulous hungry men and all the young sexy model boys that were chasing me.

‘I’m not supposed to be worried about anything. It gives me wrinkles.’

Vu said her legions of fans have sent in a huge haul of gifts, from teddy bears to flowers and even lingerie, but it has all been returned because it is contraband.

Despite her less than luxurious existence, she vowed to continue her legal fight.

‘Do I feel ashamed for being here? The answer is no,’ Vu said.

‘I’m here for a great cause, for protecting my child. This injustice won’t crash my spirit. I’m still rocking and rolling.’

Vu maintains that the Family Court in Paris made a mistake when it awarded custody of their nine-year-old daughter to her biological father.

A judge ruled she should be extradited to France to face the parental kidnapping charges, but she appealed the decision, delaying proceedings until her appeal can be heard.

The lawsuit she filed portrays Mr Froger as a reluctant father who played no part in his daughter’s life until she was seven years old and refused to even acknowledge her until she was five.

The suit, seen by the Daily News, features emails written by Froger after the couple’s fling in which he outright says: ‘I never wanted to have a baby with you.’

‘I still remember when I asked you if you used contraception pills!!!’ Froger is alleged to have written in 2006. ‘So you lied me and I don’t feel guilty about nothing.’

Vu replied: ‘I was sad when i read your email before but now I think its ridiculous that you think I have to use a baby to trick you.

‘First, I’m not the kind of women who r ugly, stupid or uneducated that I cannot get a man.

‘I thought you were a handsome kind gentleman that I had feelings for even though I didn’t expect anything from you as I wrote.’

Vu, who is also a DJ and has appeared on America’s Got Talent, was being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn in an open dormitory with about 100 other female inmates.

She is being held without bail as she is considered a flight risk.

In February she told the Daily News that prison was not as bad as she expected, although the food was disappointing and she kept having to turn down advances from lesbian inmates.

‘A lot of lesbians around here and a few blondies are hitting on me,’ Vu told the paper. ‘But I prefer to read my Bible for now.’

‘Asia’s sexiest DJ’ awaits judge’s decision in abduction case

A Brooklyn federal judge is expected to decide the fate of “Asia’s Sexiest DJ”-turned-embattled mom in the next few days, he said Wednesday at a hearing over her extradition.

A lawyer for brunette stunner Angie Vu argued she should be released on a writ of habeas corpus — and not shipped to France, where she faces child abduction charges — because she didn’t break any laws.

“Her intent was to proceed in court to exercise her parental right,” said Mia Eisner-Grynberg.

Vu, 32, has been locked up at the federal Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since November, when she was arrested at Kennedy Airport trying to board a flight to China with her daughter after losing a custody battle with the girl’s father.

Vu has argued that the girl’s father, Richard Froger, illegally obtained custody of their daughter — and argued in court Wednesday that she is victim of a double standard.

“They fail to apply the same law to him,” said Vu, dressed in navy blue and white scrubs. “He took my daughter to France for seven months. He did all of that without parental rights.”

But Judge Frederic Block told her: “These arguments would best be made in front of a French court,” and said he’d have a decision on her case in the next “couple of days.”

In February, Brooklyn federal Judge Viktor Pohorelsky signed off on Vu’s extradition, which has been tied up since March when she appealed.

At the Wednesday hearing, prosecutors said Vu should be placed in French custody because there was a court order for her to return the girl to dad Richard Froger.

“She knew of the court order. There is no dispute she failed to follow the court order,” prosecutor Ryan Harris said.

The Vietnamese-born Vu could face about three years in French prison, the lawyers speculated.

Vu, who’s appeared in Playboy, has amassed a huge following spinning records around the globe.

Many of her supporters and pals have filed letters to Judge Frederic Block, who is overseeing the appeals case, in a bid to get her released.

The fate of a sexy DJ rests in the hands of Secretary of State Kerry.

A Brooklyn federal magistrate judge has ruled that France has met its legal obligation for the extradition of Angie Vu to face parental abduction charges in Paris.

Vu, 32, who bills herself “Asia’s Sexiest DJ,” was arrested at Kennedy Airport on Nov. 4 as she was about to board a flight to China with her 9-year-old daughter, Isabella.

The child’s father was awarded legal custody of the girl by a French court, and Vu had failed to return their daughter to him on a prearranged date.

Magistrate Judge Viktor Pohorelsky wrote in his decision that it is beyond his jurisdiction to address Vu’s claims she was a victim of domestic violence.

The State Department must approve any extradition.

France files extradition request for Angie Vu, DJ jailed in Brooklyn after arrest for parental kidnapping

French authorities voulez Vu.

France has filed a formal request with the feds to extradite Asia’s sexiest DJ, Angie Vu, to Paris where she faces parental kidnaping charges, the Brooklyn U.S. Attorney’s office disclosed.

Vu was arrested Nov. 4 at Kennedy Airport as she was about to board a flight to China with her 12-year-old daughter who she failed to return to the child’s father.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Harris notified a Brooklyn judge Thursday that the official extradition request was made to the State Department within 60 days of Vu’s arrest. The extradition request now disqualifies her from being released on bail due to an international treaty covering extradition arrangements.

DJ ANGIE VU TO REMAIN JAILED IN NYC ABDUCTION CHARGES

Vu, 32, who has posed for Playboy and appeared on America’s Got Talent, has been cooling her heels at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while the international legal process dragged along.

Magistrate Judge Viktor Pohorelsky said on Dec. 21 that he was “troubled by the slow pace” of the legal proceedings but refused to release Vu on bail even after the New York consul of the Republic of Vietnam went to bat for her.

“Because Vu poses a substantial risk of flight and faces a potentially substantial prison term, the government respectfully submits that Vu has not demonstrated by clear and convincing evidence that she would be granted bail in France,” Harris argued in court papers.

The Vietnamese-born Vu failed to return her daughter, Isabella, to the girl’s biological father on Aug. 29 after a summer vacation in the U.S., according to court papers. Vu informed the baby daddy, , that she would be taking the child to Vietnam for one year.

ANGIE VU SPENDS TERRIFYING MONTH IN BROOKLYN PRISON

Froger, who has legal custody of the girl, obtained a warrant for Vu’s arrest — which she hoped would have been dropped because the child has since been reunited with her father.

The prosecutor said Vu could face up to three years in prison if convicted of the charges, but federal defender Mia Eisner-Grynberg has said that it is unlikely a French judge would sentence her to jail.

“I can be in the most luxurious places and enjoy the highlights, but I can also be left in a desert alone fighting to survive,” Vu told the Daily News in December. “Whatever comes my way, I will deal with it.”

An extradition hearing will be held next week in Brooklyn Federal Court.

Angie Vu spends ‘terrifying’ month in Brooklyn prison on abduction charges, insists her life is in control

December 6, 2015

She has spent a “terrifying” month cooling her heels in a Brooklyn prison on parental abduction charges, but Asia’s sexiest DJ, Angie Vu, insists that her life is not spinning out of control.

Angie-Vu Abduction Prison

Vu, 32, was arrested Nov. 3 by U.S. marshals at Kennedy Airport, where she was about to board a flight to China with her 9-year-old daughter, Isabella.

“I can be in the most luxurious places and enjoy the highlights, but I can also be left in a desert alone fighting to survive,” Vu told the Daily News. “Whatever comes my way, I will deal with it.”

Vu, 32, was arrested Nov. 3 by U.S. marshals at Kennedy Airport, where she was about to board a flight to China with her 9-year-old daughter, Isabella. The child’s biological father had convinced a French court that Vu was a fugitive after she failed to return their daughter to him in Paris.

Last month, a Brooklyn magistrate judge refused to free Vu on bail after Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Harris argued that the globe-hopping mom could not be trusted to return to Paris  on her own. She is due in Brooklyn Federal Court on Monday to find out if authorities in Paris are still demanding she return to face charges.

“I love my child, and it breaks my heart to see her being put in between all this,” Vu said.

She is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in an open dormitory with 100 female inmates. There hasn’t been any “Orange Is the New Black” drama, but it hasn’t been easy, either.

“I broke down when I first got here,” she said. “I will never forget what I had to go through, the sound and view of cells, handcuffs and chains and other prisoners.”

There hasn’t been any special treatment, although a guard recognized Vu from her past appearance on the TV show “America’s Got Talent,” and several inmates remarked that she seemed like a model with her striking looks and “nice, white teeth.”

“I love my child, and it breaks my heart to see her being put in between all this,” Vu said.

Vu has appeared in Playboy magazine and Internet films when she’s not working as a DJ in posh clubs in Asia. She’s had to cancel gigs in Los Angeles, Malaysia and Las Vegas.

“I look horrible and baggy like a monster in this jumpsuit three times my size, but it is the last thing I care about now,” she said.

She hopes the judge will see her as a caring mom and not some sexpot with no respect for the law.

“(The prosecutor) can use as many photos of me in sexy outfits to go to events or in bikinis on the beach, naked in Playboy …,” she said.

But there are many photos of her shaking hands with former President Bill Clinton and pictures of her and her daughter on the cover of a family magazine, she noted.

Model DJ in NYC jail after arrest at JFK for trying to abduct daughter

November 19, 2015

She’s been called Asia’s sexiest DJ, but Angie Vu is currently starring in real-life caged heat.

Angie Vu Ha Model DJ

A federal judge has ordered Vu to cool her heels in a New York City lockup while she faces extradition to France on parental abduction charges, the Daily News has learned.

“The Vietnamese-born Angie Vu Ha sought release on bail last week, arguing that she would never go on the lam because she’s such a big international star.”

Vu, 32, was arrested by U.S. marshals at Kennedy Airport on Wednesday as she attempted to board a flight to China with her 9-year-old daughter. She had bought a ticket on the flight that day after receiving a state court summons to give up custody of the youngster, according to papers filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.

The feds were armed with a warrant issued by a judge in Paris alleging she was a fugitive from charges of failing to return the child to her father, who has custody.

The Vietnamese-born vixen sought release on bail last week, arguing that she would never go on the lam because she’s such a big international star. She has been featured in Playboy magazine and the Internet film “Underwater Action,” when she is not spinning records at posh clubs in Asia.

But the judge agreed with Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Harris, who stated in court papers that “allowance of bail in any amount would not guarantee the fugitive’s presence in court and would invite the possibility of embarrassing the United States in the conduct of its foreign affairs.”

Vu, who has also modeled high-end clothing and started a modeling agency, has been globe-hopping since she broke an agreement with the child’s father, Richard Froger, a Frenchman. Froger had agreed to let their daughter stay with Vu for part of her summer vacation and return to France on Aug. 29.

But Froger received an email from Vu on Aug. 28 informing him that the child was in Vietnam with relatives and would be staying there for one year, court papers state.

Authorities confirmed the child flew to Taiwan on Aug. 27 with Vu and apparently onward to Hanoi.

She returned to the U.S. in October, and, the day before her arrest, posted photos on her Facebook page from a pumpkin farm in Long Island, where she was vamping in a Wonder Woman costume.

Federal defender Mia Eisner-Greenberg declined comment.

Sources said the little girl is back with her father now, so the next move is in the hands of the French court to decide whether the charges will be pursued or dropped.
